Flipkart chief financial officer Sanjay Baweja has quit the company. He has joined Flipkart in November last year from Tata Communications where he was serving as the Global CFO. He’s also had stints at Bharti Airtel, Xerox ModiCorp and has over three decades of work experience.
It would be interesting to see how Flipkart’s Top Management will take up this challenge in this crucial festive season which is important from the point of sales revenue generation is concerned. On top of it they will have to convince Walmart management too from whom they are in advance talk to raise 1 billion USD.
Flipkart has witnessed a series of top management exits over the last year or two which includes :-
- Exit of flipkart CPO Punit Soni, one of the company’s most prized Silicon Valley hire, quit in April this year after an year-long stint.
- Flipkart’s commerce head Mukesh Bansal and chief business officer Ankit Nagori also left the company in February this year. In the same month Co-founder Binny Bansal’s elevated as the CEO of Flipkart.
In August, Flipkart got on board Mr. Kalyan Krishnamurthy, a senior executive from Tiger Global to handle two business units to keep the e-tail war alive . He was brought back in June this year. This was the third major leadership level re-shuffle at Flipkart this year.
